December 21, 200421 yr There's Wade Miller. And don't forget about Brian Sweeney! That guy went like 16-2 and had a 1.00-something ERA for me in MVP...in AAA.
December 21, 200421 yr Wade Miller and David Eckstein jump out at me. Eckstein would give us a lot more IF depth and allows us to spread around Uribe to 3B and 2B on off days for Harris and Crede and still have depth at SS. Wade Miller would be a great pick up for obvious reasons.
December 21, 200421 yr Miller, Eckstein, Cora and DeRosa (only as a backup, obviously) are the only guys that intrest me.
December 21, 200421 yr How about Munson? How good is he? Or should I say how good was he projected to be? Can we sign him cheap and either trade or put pressure on Crede? It worked for Drew Brees...
December 21, 200421 yr couldn't hurt, as a spring invite, but personally, I'd rather not get someone to battle with Crede. You either start him or you find a more proven player. They've spent too much time on him and have waited for him, I'd rather give him the extra shot than bring in someone like Munson to battle with him, unless that player can play numerous positions and can serve as a utility guy as well.
December 21, 200421 yr WOW, Ben davis...didn't see that coming Miller, would be nice and Alex Cora.. otherwise in the words from "Spaceballs" "We aint got s***" Yeah I know its modified!
December 21, 200421 yr WOW, Ben davis...didn't see that coming Miller, would be nice and Alex Cora.. otherwise in the words from "Spaceballs" "We aint got s***" Yeah I know its modified! I wonder if Miller is still injured. Do the Astros know something? If not, I'd love to have him on the South Side. And Cora.
December 21, 200421 yr ANAHEIM (1) -- David Eckstein, SS. CHICAGO (4) -- Ben Davis, C KANSAS CITY (1) -- Miguel Asencio, RHP. HOUSTON (1) -- Wade Miller, RHP. LOS ANGELES (3) Scott Strickland, RHP. SAN FRANCISCO (3) -- Wayne Franklin, LHP; Dustan Mohr, OF Didn't kenny say he was going to wait to non tenders to go out and get someone in the market or was that our general concensus here? The above guys are most appealing...but do we not have a catcher now, is this the same thing as arbitration???
December 21, 200421 yr Whos the next David Ortiz in the bunch you ask? Josh Phelps and Eric Munson. Phelps or Munson would not be a bad pick up. Both can supply us some power while hurt is gone. Im intrigued with munson, he can be a good LH stick in our lineup.
December 21, 200421 yr The players I would go after on this list are: David Eckstein Alex Cora Wade Miller Scott Strickland And I think we should resign Ben Davis as well. I think he will turn out to be pretty good.
December 21, 200421 yr miller is key , AJ would be huge , cora or eckstein would help depth. total price for '05, around 10 million. clement '05 = 8 million alone. beltran = 15+ million. milton wants 9 million? lets be smart KW. :fyou
December 21, 200421 yr Another guy who was pretty good last year is Amaury Telemaco from the Phillies, although the Sox seem to have a bounty of bullpen arms as it is. If Kenny can't pick up another starter, siging Telemaco and inserting Hermanson into the rotation might be a good idea.
