The cousin of my best friend's roommate in college just recently died in a helicopter crash.

Hey Georgie Bush, if you're reading this. :fyou you motherf***ing war criminal sonofab****. You f***ing chickenhawk AWOL motherf***er, you being the crown prince of the oil barons. And yes, I did check out www.opensecrets.org and found out a lot of influential members of Bushie's cabinet also have some obvious ties to oil industries. Kinda weird that we'd first invade a country that might not have weapons but has oil over a country who HAS weapons but no oil, right?

I don't know if you saw on CNN, they were doing an interview with the family of one of the first troops to die in the war...hoping it would be incredibly patriotic that their son died for the noble cause, etc. etc. etc. but they were quite surprised when the man's father stated "George W. Bush, you killed my only son" and was VERY against the war in Iraq.

Shock and awe, my ass. This is wholesale death and destruction.

I hate war but sometimes its the only option. But I respect your opinion apu. And God be with your friend during these hard times...

I believe today we found a supply of White Powder, and instructions on how to use it in some factory in the region of Baghdad.

Also there were traces of Mustard Gas found in the water supply.

Saddam has weapons, and we are going to take the bastard out

Ari and the White House doesn't think that capturing him and bringing him to justice is important though. Check out the "Truce" thread for the link to the news report confirming this.

Wow, for the "We want to bring Saddam to justice" mentality that Bush had, he doesn't care now? I guess he blew his load over all those millions of barrels of oil he is gonna get at the cost of a few gallons of the middle class blood. :fyou Dubya!

I believe today we found a supply of White Powder, and instructions on how to use it in some factory in the region of Baghdad.

The white powder was explosive, not chemical or biological weapon.

If the guy was such a threat, why was it this easy?

Why was what this easy? Invading Iraq?

Invading Iraq has been easy because the Iraqui military is weak. Saddam is a threat because no matter how weak your military is all it takes is a couple of guys to release some chemicals, and then we have a problem. Plus he is a threat to his own people and he funds terrorists.

Like I said, we are going to take the bastard out

however, a lot of these chemicals are very easy to produce and you dont need to be a state to make them. Ricin can be made with baby formula and castor beans. A couple bottles of household chemicals mixed together can kill thousands too. If we're worried about the release of chemicals, why would we attack a secular arab state?

He was a threat to his people when he gassed them 15 years ago. Except then he was an ally. The chemical weapons he has are something Rumsfeld helped him obtain.

And being a threat to his own people does not justify massive military operations on our part. There's a reason why its called defense, not offense.

Saddam will go to Syria soon.

He's already there. But he's a lot better for his cause silent than alive or dead. If he just "spirits" away, it becomes easier to become mythologized.
