Anyone here have any experience with flintlock rifles? I am busy selling my bass boat and the guy wants to toss in a flintlock rifle, the kind where the flint comes down making a spark and igniting the powder. I think they are cool but have zero idea what a replica (I'm certain it's a replica) would be worth. I've googled and there are so many different ones, some can be fired, some cannot. I wonder if there is a way to tell which is which. What components wear out first, etc.

not much of a gun person so sorry if this is dumb suggestion, but, is there a local gun club in the area? call them and ask them about it or see if they have a member who knows about who'd talk to you...

That is what I am doing. There is a local Mountain Man reenactment club I'm going to visit. They kind of scare the crap out of me, putting on costumes and playing in the woods and all . . .
