February 14, 200521 yr Depending on his combine, I could see the Brown's trading down and taking Charlie Frye in the late 1st round. I haven't seen that rumor anywhere, but it would make sense to me. They aren't going anywhere next year anyways, too much problems.

Yup, I was thinking the same thing. I know Jeff did his fair share of complaining in Cleveland, irreparable damage must have been done. I think the Charlie Frye situation is very logical Phf; if the right trade presents itself, that may very well happen. However, many mocks had the Browns selecting Smith without Garcia's departure, this almost makes it automatic.
February 14, 200521 yr Yeah it just doesn't make much sense to me to draft Alex Smith that early when Charlie Frye is a very similar QB and they could gain extra picks. Neither Alex Smith or Charlie Frye will be ready to play right away in the NFL for varying reason's in my opinion. Drafting Frye with their 2nd round pick would be nice for them, but I don't think he will last that long.
