Doesn't sound like a UTL guy is on KW's radar.

"The opportunity is there and I have to be ready to take advantage of it," Borchard said. "If I play my game, that's the best chance I have for things to fall in place. I can't let what happened last year ruin me."

So.. Knights here comes Bochard!!

KW, do something right for a change and cut him, The Mexican league figured out he sucks, why can't you..

The sox will give Joe every chance to prove himself this spring, though it's for a spot on some other teams 25 man roster. The writing is on the wall that they should be parting ways pretty soon. The sox respect his hard work, dedication and character. But give the guy a break. There are guys far worthier of being lambasted for their lack of effort, and questionable character than Joe B, who by all accounts is a stand up guy, just not a very good baseball player. give it a rest

why should we cut him? throw him in AAA. he cant hurt anything, you have to pay him even if you cut him, so put him in AAA or even AA and hope something clicks. If it doesnt, he can go after his contract

Who's this Tony Alvarez guy mentioned in that article?

Was previously an outfielder from the Pirates who was signed as a minor league free agent.

Thanks. I had forgotten about him.

I remember reading somewhere that when Borchard first came to Charlotte the team was one of the best money makers in the ml's. A strong ST by Joe might help boost the Knights gate again. There are worse things the Sox can do then to keep Joe at Charlotte.
