Good news for Twins

Featured Replies

Many people will argue about where this thread should go but since I do think anything that involves the sox should be in Pale House Talk, here we go.

The Twins received great news on the second opinion about Silva's right knee, he won't need surgery until after the season. They will let him throw a bullpen seassion then get a start in the minors to build his arm strength back up. So much for our luck on the Twins finding a 5th starter. However, do you guys really think his knee can hold up for the rest of the season? I mean were just starting, will he really be ok until after the season?

I think he'll mess it up at one point in the season. Hopefully it's the week before he faces us.

I know one thing... We're going to do a lot of bunting vs. him the next time we see him.

There are a few thing with meniscus tears. First MRIs are not that accurrate and who knows the true extent of the tear. With meds the inflammation can go down and he won't have any problems with it but it could just as easily flip back into the joint. The article is right that he won't do anymore damage if he continues to play unless the meniscus tears more. These are possibilities especially with a guy his weight.

Overall they probably figured if he tears it more we definitely need to do surgery to repair so let's let him try. With a tear that big they won't remove it. If you remove it, it's 4-8 weeks rehab. To repair it is 4-6 months, so let him try.
