Anyways, it looks like we're finally seeing a little bit of giving from both sides. I guess the NHLPA offered a system with floating caps and floors from year to year, with the caps moving up or down based upon revenues.

 

I really hope they get it done. I don't think I can go two years without hockey. Plus, it'd be nice to have an NHL Draft come June. That's one of the best events that we Hawk fans have to look forward to from year to year, and it'd be a bummer if we miss out on the famed 'Crosby' draft.

YESSS!!!! You could make guys' heads bleed in that one!!! AND it's featured in that movie, Swingers.

I'm done getting my hopes up on this. When all of the greedy assholes finally get a deal done, I will get excited again. The bad part is they still have no clue what they are going do do with the draft anyways. There is no way that all of the teams should be eligible for that no 1 pick. They should break it down into groups of 10 -10 - remainder(who knows how many teams will be left) based on their records over the last 5 years. There would be 3 different lotteries to determine positioning in those 10 spots. (1-10, 11-20, 21-remainder). Teams 1, 11 & 21 would get the most ping pong balls and 10, 20 & remainder would get 1 ball. The most you can move up is to the lowest number spot in your group of 10. Example Team A is in position #15. They could only move up to position #11 if they won their lottery.

 

But hey what do I know, I am only a fan.

Ahhh, just give Crosby to the Rangers.

New York's the only market that matters anyway, right?

 

I don't trust either set of morons to get a deal done anytime soon.

I saw some links to that story and didn't even click on them.

I'll believe a deal when I see it, and I'll think about the NHL again when they finally drop a puck.

I'm so sick of this whole situation.

We should be enjoying the Stanley Cup playoffs right now, not thinking about a possible first step towards maybe finding some potential, hypothetical middle ground that could, if all things fall into place, perhaps pave the way towards an eventual settlement.

Personally I wouldn't mind if the NHL collapsed totally and a new leauge was formed to replace it.
