tony72
Just an FYI to put to rest all the be-moaning of why don't the Sox sell out? etc. The White Sox averaged 21,800 in April. That is the highest April average for the White Sox since 1994 (pre-strike days). We had two games over 30,000 and five over 20,000. That is not bad at all for April (even for a winning team). I guarantee you if we are averaging 22,000 in April we will average well over 30,000 during the summer and the rest of the season. Everyone thinks our attendance is bad just because Wrigley sells out every game (but that is an exception). We were drawing around 2.5 million per year in the first part of the 90's until the strike hit. Then we had seasons were we only drew 16,000 per game. The attendance has actually been on the rebound the last couple years and I believe if we are competitive we will consisitently draw 2.5 million plus as we did before. Yes - we will have a few games still around 15,000, 16,000 (KC weekday) But everyone chill and just enjoy this season and the stadium will be rocking this summer. WilliamTell
Very good to hear. Hopefully it'll continue, but the Sox have to keep winning in order for it to.
