toasty
just where would our pitching staff be if we had MO instead of AJ?? i don't even wanna think about that one! ... I say lock up AJ longer term before season's end oh... and yeah, clee has good offensive power.... but i think he was traded more not for his net worth to another team, but rather traded to remove his negativity from the clubhouse! DonkeyKongerko
And to kill the Cubs and Twins for us regularly.
southsider2k5
Contreras and Cotts would still have ERAs closer to 6 vs 3 for one thing. I also don't think Garland would have turned the corner and would still be having his blow up innings. Aj is god.
ISF
I was just thinking the same thing this morning. Get AJP locked up before the end of the season.
Jabroni
I was just thinking the same thing this morning. Get AJP locked up before the end of the season. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Agreed. So far, his only negative has been throwing runners out. But his positives (handling the pitching staff, hitting, attitude) far outweigh his negative (weak arm). aboz56
Sign him for a 3 year deal for $12 million or so. The guy is worth it.

Ya know, I can go along with the whole "going in a different direction" reason for trading CLee but I'll never get this need to trash the guy just because he's gone. Whatever! YASNY
I haven't changed my opinion yet. There is no rush to resign AJ. He's with us for till the end of '06 as it is, if we want him that long. Let's wait and see.
1549
Playoff teams almost always have a reliable everyday catcher...I'm glad we have one this year. I think stability behind the plate is a big factor in a team's success.
soxfan420
with the pitching staff thriving like none other and no new addition to the the rotation than el duke, i think its time to give some credit to the battery and resign him to a 5 year deal. Be Good
AJ should be resigned ASAP and even if he hits s***ty. He's great with his pitchers, given the success here and with the Twinkiees.
bulokis
The good thing about AJ is he doesnt demand a long term contract. I remember last year when Valentin started hitting, he started wanting a long term contract. But definitely we need to sign AJ, he adds toughness and attitude to our team. Thanks Twinks for AJ, he said he look great in black and want to stay wearing black with the SOX.
TLAK
AJ will be tough to sign. I'm still convinced that his relationship with the Giants was spoiled when he took them to arbitration right after they traded for him.
Jabroni
AJ will be tough to sign. I'm still convinced that his relationship with the Giants was spoiled when he took them to arbitration right after they traded for him. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> "Pierzynski getting caught up in Sox - and city" Friday, May 6, 2005 http://www.dailysouthtown.com/southtown/ds.../pro/061sd5.htm For the first time in more than a year, A.J. Pierzynski feels at home. The White Sox catcher is hoping he can make it a permanent stay. Pierzynski, who signed a one-year, $2.25 million deal with the Sox during the offseason, will be arbitration-eligible after the season if the Sox don't sign him to an extension. He feels comfortable enough with his new team to want to stay on the South Side and hopes the organization feels the same way. "I'm arbitration-eligible, so it won't be up to me," Pierzynski said. "If they want to bring me back, they'll bring me back. "I love Chicago. I love the city. The guys here have gone out of their way to welcome me. I just hope we can keep winning like we have, and the rest will take care of itself. We had a great first month. Now we have to finish what we've started."
