I'm going to NC June 10th-12th

Which minor league team should I check out? They're about an equal drive from Greensboro and I believe both are playing at home

Kanny, go check out Gio. Then give me a scouting report.

W-S go check out Fabio Castro.

Depends on what you like to watch. W-S is a much bigger city and has a bigger stadium. Guys like Liotta, Gonzales, and Adam Russell and some good infield prospects in Fransisco Hernandez, Adam Ricks, Ryan McCarthy, and Jose De Los Santos would be fun to watch for Kannapolis. Basically its comparing a smaller city/stadium with possibly more prospects to a bigger city/stadium in Winston-Salem that still has some nice prospects like Schurnstein, Daniel Haigwood, Fernando Hernandez, Ryan Rodriquez, Wes Whisler, and Robert Valido(if he stays clean), and Thomas Collaro. I would rather go see Winston-Salem play partly because of the city cize, but mainly because I've always wanted to see Micah Schurnstein, Robert Valido(still), and Fernando Hernandez play/pitch.

If I were you I would find out who's pitching on the day(s) you are going to the game(s) and maybe you can make a better judgement from that.

Like PaleHose said, if you could find out who's pitching, that's be a big help. If Liotta or Gio are pitching at Kanny, I'd definitely suggest that you make your way to Kannapolis. Otherwise, I dunno -- it's close. If it were me, I'd go to Kanny either way, just 'cause I want to see how good Francisco Hernandez is -- a guy that Phil Rogers (bad specific example by me) thinks very highly of, as well as many people around here.

Yep you can't really go wrong with either club. You will get to see some nice young prospects in some nice stadiums. I'm very jealous of you, I LOVE NC. I mostly watched the Knights/Durham Bulls when I'm there, but I would love to be able to see more Warthogs/Intimidators games.

To put it in perspective, I once saw Pat Daneker pitch for the Knights because I wasn't careful who was going to be on the mound when I went.

Wow, thanks for all the input guys! I will check out the matchups and make a decision.

I'm leaning Intimidators too, because I just love the team name and logo.

No prob, here's some info about the ballparks etc, it might help you out, then again you have probably already looked at it. But anyways here it is.

Warthogs

Kannapolis

Personally, I love W-S. Ernie Shore is a great place to watch baseball, it's a great atmosphere, it's a higher level of play than Kanny, so the quality of play will be more enjoyable.

They also have Wi-Fi in the stadium if you bring your laptop or anything of that sort. Ernie Shore is right in the heart of the Wake Forest athletic complex. It's a bigger city with more to do, but it will still be slow as school is out.

Kanny and Charlotte are pretty close together and you can catch DH's or make game-day decisions if you're staying in Charlotte and they are both in town.

W-S and Birmingham are my 2 favorites based on talent and everything else, generally.

W-S has Whisler, Liotta, Gonzalez, Valido, Schnurstein, Nanita, Harrell, Russell, etc etc.

Personally I would try to get to at least a Kanny game or 2 if I could to see F. Hernandez catch, I luv to watch that kid play the game. However, there isn't a ton of talent at Kanny right now. They are usually a better team to go see in mid or late July when a bunch of the freshly drafted players are there.

Come on now, nobody in the media had ever mentioned him and even most followers of the minors had never heard of the kid until I started pimping him in early August after he blew me away... :lolhitting
