Our pitchers never have to bat anymore until the world series... I hate the NL rules.

Yeah, I heard that on the radio last night after the game.

Pretty cool I think.

their is nothing worse than seeing most pitchers take 3 pitches than grab some bench...

I think NL rules is the most over rated thing in baseball

I agree, but the pitchers did okay at the plate. I wouldn't trade Politte's RBI single for anything.

Watching Cliff's slap hit from from the right field seats at Coors was the highlight of the season for me. :D

Totally agree Cliff hit was one of the highlights of the season but I would rather see Frank or Carl batting 4 times a game...

The AL teams are at a disadvantage when they play at a NL ballpark...

The NL rule where the pitcher must bat is terrible and ruins the game. MLB should want the team to have all nine of their batters be true hitters and not up there to strike out

They didnt look that lost up there. They even put some wood on the ball. :gosox3:

There are more and more pitchers that can hit well. Maddux in his prime, Hampton, D-Train, Smoltz, Wood. Pitchers are starting to hit about the Mendoza line. I say, leave it in.

On the subject, for those old enough to remember...

Back in the early seventies, RP Terry Forster used to pinch hit in certain occasions. He succeeded in many of those ABs.

1972: 10 for 19, .526 with only two strikeouts.

Forster is a career .397 hitter in 78 ABs. Not bad for a flame throwing reliever.

I feel the DH rule should either be IN both or Out of both.. not one or the other...thats just me though.
