Computer booting problems

Featured Replies

My laptop suddenly went into a cycle where it will just continuously reboot. I tried all flavors of safe mode, normal, and to last known configuration and it keeps cycling around. It has Win XP home. I checked for stuck input devices including the keyboard. The only way to stop it is to pull the power. My anti-virus is up to date and I assume had been running.

Maybe something is wrong with the power supply?

Thanks, I woke up thinking along those same lines. I was just wondering and searching to find out what happens if the battery is bad. My first thought was that as long as I was hooked up to an outlet the battery doesn't matter. I'm hoping to find an answer before droping $150 on a new battery.

Figured out how to get the error message to stay on the screen.

and of course I cannot find the system disk for the laptop.
