Couple of Sox Blurbs

I managed to slip a Brandon McCarthy question into the Jim Cialis (Baseball America) chat @ ESPN.com today, and another person got in a Jenks question. Here they are, before the chat goes insider.

Nick (Chicago: Do you see Bobby Jenks having a major impact on the White Sox the way K-Rod did on the 2002 Angels?

Jim: (3:30 PM ET ) No. Jenks has a great arm and he's supposedly more mature this year, but I'll believe it when I see it. His control is still erratic enough to prevent him from begin totally reliable, and I bet he doesn't even make Chicago's playoff roster.

Brian (Pasadena): What has happened to Brandon McCarthy this year? It seems like he can't keep anything in the ballpark. Was he brought up too early? Will he turn things around?

Jim: (3:53 PM ET ) Guys whose numbers are more dominant than their stuff are always hard to figure. McCarthy has good stuff, but he succeeds with a lot of deception, and he just wasn't fooling big league hitters. He'll be back--he just wasn't ready.

Thanks for the info.

And it would be hilarious if his name was actually Cialis.

Seems like the key word with Jenks is control, and will dictate what type of impact he has with us this season.

Chris Young also mentioned in the BA prospect Hot Sheet

Also, wasnt Sickels suuposed to do an overview of our top 20 prospects? I thought someone mentioned that yesterday. If so, where do you find it?

He was supposed to but he may be doing it tomorrow instead. It's on minorleagueball, but he did the Cards today instead.

There is no doubt. Can he repeat his delivery well enough to throw strikes? Can he show control within the strike zone as well? Can he handle adversity after he gives up his first three-run blast? How will he handle the pressure of the bigs?

I'd say those should cover it.
