Bradford has a horribly bad back and there is doubt he can hold up and stay healthy ... big doubt. That's why he only fetched a guy who was designated for assignment.

July 14, 200520 yr Jay Payton is in another league compared to Timo Perez. The sole reason for being designated for assignment was to get him off out of the clubhouse after his outburst at Terry Francona after being placed sixth in the line-up after being pinched hit, than first, leading him to believe that Francona didn't have trust in him at the top of the order. In turn, Payton was placed where he was to seperate consecutive lefties. He never was happy with his role, and being that its a contract year he's dieing for playing time. Shows you what money will do to a guy.
