October 18, 200223 yr This is an interesting idea, but also a stupid one. How do you expect any fan base to grow when a team is playing all over the place all season long. First off, it really sucks for the players unless they arrange it in a way that they can save travel time. Like when they are out on the West Coast, after that trip they have a home trip in Oregon, and then when they are down near Florida or Texas they then go down to Puerto Rico. Of course that would also be like never giving the players home field advantage, even if they don't draw. Its got to suck for the players, I'd be begging to get out of Montreal. If I were a player I'd at least want to know I could spend half of my time at one place and they don't even know that. At least most of their guys are young, but it sucks for the older players who have wives and kids.
October 18, 200223 yr Outside of a 1 or 2 game series agreed to by the competing Organizations, isn't this scenario a violation of the MLBPA contract? I defer to the "stat-heads" on this one cause
October 19, 200223 yr Welcome to the office of the Commissioner of Major League Baseball. Please check your brain at the door.
October 19, 200223 yr I think we should move the 'spos to the brubs here in chicago! Lake Forest Expos!!! whooo!
October 19, 200223 yr That would be a tragedy.... I hate STL, but the Cards have alot of tradition there.
October 19, 200223 yr Your dang right they are and I don't think they are going anywhere. Remember when the Bears were talking about moving to Garey Indiana. Well that was just a play to finally get the city of Chicago on and working on getting a stadium. I'm sure St. Louis gets their new stadium, they are loved in that town.
October 20, 200223 yr i wouldn't mind a couple of games being played in portland because then i only have to drive 30 minutes to see a game instead of 6-7 hours to seattle

October 20, 200223 yr but all my friends live in portland so if im gonna move for base it would be to chicago so i could see MY SOX play alot more. i know it is unfair of the players to be away from there freinds a family that is alot of nights with the team and around them alot. atleast it football our team starts getting tired around each other sometimes being around them school, films at lunch, 4-5 hours practice at night, and films on saturday, team dinner thursday. We still are a team when it matters.
