could the Sox spin lowell of to another team for some prospects if they get him.  What other team needs a 3rd baseman?

Most likely they would keep him. Bruce Levine was saying that if the Sox also get Lowell that he would backup 3B and 1B. He also said that it will most likely happen the day of the deadline or very close to it. A Florida newspaper also said that its down to the White Sox and that basically it.

They probably are waiting for a lefty, I've heard Billy Wagner, Eddie Guardado, Scott Eyre, and Ron Villone.

I truely believe Kenny won't let Marte go with out another lefty lined up. Wagner or Guardado would obviously be awesome but I'm not sure if you'll see either of them dealt although these things change daily. I personally love the idea of acquiring Eyre, with the way Ozzie loves playing the matchup game and with how good Eyre is against lefties I think he'd be an absolute perfect fit.

I dont know why but I really do not want to give Bmac especially for a half a year of Burnett. If we can get Burnett with Jose contreras I would do it.

That's pretty much how I feel, even though I think Contreras is very underrated (especially around here). If Burnett's not going to stick around, we're probably gonna regret losing McCarthy in a few years.
