I wasn't saying Contreras, Marte AND BMac, I was substituting Contreras for BMac if they want to compete this year. You could then spice that up with less valuable B-list prospects.

The trade is ridiculous, because the Sox are not going to deal from their superiority to most teams during the regular season...but from what I can tell, it is not 3 arms for 1, it is those 3 for Baez and Huff. For TB, that trade makes no sense whatsoever. Probably the best way to remain a medicre to bad team is to load up the bullpen while doing nothing for your rotation. I love a philosophy for the regular season being average SP and a lights out pen...Minnesota has won 3 straight division titles with that philosophy(though Santana was a stud last year)...but part of that is having average SP, something Tampa Bay does not have. Their ownership should seriously fire LaMar this offseason. He really is not a good GM at all.
