bigred3535
I'm surprised his name hasn't come up in relation to the Sox yet. Baseball Prospectus says there have been several teams asking after him, and the Rangers may be willing to deal due to their stockpile of hitters and desperate need for pitchers. I think he could step into the DH role nicely for the Sox. Even if his homers were to drop a little bit moving from Arlington, he's been a walk machine this year and has some speed. Plus he's always been considered what KW would call a "grinder." I would certainly be willing to trade a couple mid-level prospects for him. They are very unrealistic when trading. They would expect McCarthy at a minimum, plus probably want a guy from the 25 man roster to take his place as DH/Outfield since Nix is out for the season. Kalapse
His OPS is .910 .263 BA with a .403 OBP + a .507 SLUG He's walked 63 times. Has 18 HRs, 38 RIBIs, 65 Runs but only 8 doubles. And he doesn't have much spead at all, not to mention the fact that this is a career year at the age of 31. Give me Huff or Overbay.
YASNY
Delucci is a good ballplayer, but he's the classic example of a guy you could overpay ... drastically ... for if you are not acreful.

That's true, but since there are some better hitters on the block, the Rangers might take less for him, expecially with Adrian Gonzalez waiting in the wings. Well we do have one of the smaller fields in the majors, so maybe we wouldn't have to pay too much.
