July 30, 200520 yr Another very good start for Haigwood. If he had about 2-3 less walks, that probably would have been his best outing of the year. I can't say that for sure, but it just seems like one hell of an outing. How'd he look in person, Bham? Also, how's Chris Stewart defensively and calling games? He's really turned it on offensively this year compared to years past, and is only 23. He's a guy that no one talks about on here, but he could be solid if he has finally got his s*** together offensively. For a catcher, his .296 BA, 8 HR's, 36 RBI, and 17 doubles seem just fine to me. July 30, 200520 yr Barons 9 Chattanooga 1 W- Haigwood (2-0) L- Dumtrait (3-11) A very good pitching effort by Haigwood, had a little struggle in the 4th after he sat on the bench for a long time with the Barons puting a crooked number on the score board. He had a good looking fastball and plus curve going last night. At the plate Jerry Owens continued his tear he has been on 2-6 again. I can tell just be seeing Fields lately that he is turning it around he is laying off that outside breaking pitch for walks and hitting to RF and up the middle more as well. Ryan Sweeney had a pair of base hits as well today. And finally Chris Stewart homered off big leaguer Ben Webber who was on Rehab.
