Sandberg gives Sosa merciless beating

Featured Replies

Ryne Sandburg, who I always considered a class act and I don't care if he was a Cub, really ripped into selfish players that tip their caps after a homer with the team down by five runs and are always looking for the red light on the dugout cam. He didn't mention Sosa by name, but we all know ....

Phil Rogers' column

:cheers

Well done Sandberg...it was a great speech. Much enjoyed.

Sounded more like a sermon than an acceptance speech..

He had some things he needed to get off his chest, didn't he?

OK.

That was the ultimate forum.

Young players should take heed. The most laughable, yet plausible outcome would be for abusers like soso never to get into the Hall.

Good grief... :rolly

It is MY OPINION that it was not the right forum.. better?

Your opinion is so far off-base, it's borderline hater material.

Would you have preferred a gushing, thankful, limp-wristed-wrigley-bleacher-like speech like most do?

Tell me, what forum, if any, would be good for such a speech?

An opinion.. off base.. LMAO. :stupid

Perhaps a youth baseball camp.. or a YMCA. Somewhere where he might make a difference and not in from of a bunch of adults that are already aware of the dangers of roids.

"Hater material"... :dips***

Are you saying opinions can't be wrong?

Sure, he should be going to a couple of youth baseball camps, rather than taking the biggest stage possible...

Well, that is by far the oddest place I have seen Harry Potter mentioned. That one came out of left field (or, more aptly, right field. . .)

this is just typical cub behavior, sosa is the heart and soul of your organization for a long time, he has one bad season they continuosly boo him and run him out of town. i just dont know how how you could turn on someone who jump started that orginaztion
