Odds? We got them here

I was thinking that instead of listening to fans and paid talking heads, I'd see what the professionals who are paid to set the odds are thinking, plus what people who will fork over a credit card think.

Seems like either we have a chance, or Sox fans are too generous in their investments.

I had a friend of mine place a bet at Wynn's in Vegas back in May. I have the Sox +800 to win it all and +400 to win the AL pennant. Not the best prices, seeing as it would have been many times that had he been in Vegas a month earlier.

Like Homer Simpson's quoit about Krusty The Clown's promise of spitting in every 50th "Krusty Burger",......

"I like those odds!"

I'm not really a gambling man, but I wish I knew about this sote in the offseason.

One site has us 25:1 to win the Pennant. I think that's worth putting $100 on.

I was in Vegas in February and got the Sox at these odds:

(1)

Future Wager 02/06/05 04:33 ET

137.00/616.50 Result: Pending

2005 American League Central Champion

Chicago White Sox 10/01/05 (12:00 ET)

9-2

(2)

Future Wager 02/06/05 04:31 ET

50.00/2500.00 Result: Pending

2005 World Series Championship

Chicago White Sox 10/30/05 (12:00 ET)

50-1

I got the Sox over at 82.5 wins. That bet has been in the bag since June.
