The three were sentenced Monday at El Cajon Municipal Court. The teens, all from La Mesa, admitted in a July plea agreement to committing two shootings, according to the newspaper. Judge Allen J. Preckel said he sentenced the trio to a year in jail, despite protests from relatives and friends, to serve as a warning to others, the Union-Tribune reported. The teens were also ordered to repay $7,331.82 to two victims, serve three years of probation with a 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew and perform 200 hours of volunteer work each. They were also barred from owning BB guns.
