August 31, 200520 yr Timo Perez went 0-for-3 with a sac bunt today, dropping his average to .225. Will Ozzie Guillen's overreliance on the sac bunt or his overreliance on Timo cost him more in the end? Perez got 56 at-bats this month and hit .214/.271/.286. He's hitting .225/.273/.306 on the season and he finished at .246/.285/.338 last year. With those kind of lines, he almost qualifies for becoming a regular on the Royals. But Perez did contribute a key sacrifice today, moving up two baserunners in the third inning and helping the team score a run. One run. In a game they went on to lose 9-2. Take it for what its worth. Edited August 31, 200520 yr by southsideirish71
August 31, 200520 yr QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 03:52 PM) Take it for what its worth. he hit the nail on the head imo.
August 31, 200520 yr Our lineup today was depressing from the start and never amounted to much today. We lost all momentum offensively gained in the last 3 games by putting that lineup in. What a joke.
August 31, 200520 yr I wonder how the players feel when they see this kind of lineup. Especially the starting pitcher.
August 31, 200520 yr The lineup today was pathetic. If Ozzie isn't going to play all the regulars we might as well release them. No point in cluttering the bench.
August 31, 200520 yr Ozzie Guillen should not be managing a burger joint, no less a Major League baseball team. All faith in him has been lost, without question.
August 31, 200520 yr I used to rationalize it as preparation for the stretch run. BUT THIS IS THE GODDAMN STRETCH RUN! When your team has the best record in baseball and then has a below .500 month, its time to solidify the lineup. No more of this f***ing around. These guys are rested and ready to play. Thats their job. They can handle it Oz. Goddamit I'm so pissed right now.

August 31, 200520 yr QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 04:47 PM) The problem is not getting on base and having a philosophy that is the exact opposite of what has been successful in years past. How did that happen? How did they lose that philosophy? I just don't get it.
August 31, 200520 yr you're forgetting Crede's stellar August in which he hit .103 and drove in 1. On a solo homer.
