Rotoworlds take on

Timo Perez went 0-for-3 with a sac bunt today, dropping his average to .225. Will Ozzie Guillen's overreliance on the sac bunt or his overreliance on Timo cost him more in the end? Perez got 56 at-bats this month and hit .214/.271/.286. He's hitting .225/.273/.306 on the season and he finished at .246/.285/.338 last year. With those kind of lines, he almost qualifies for becoming a regular on the Royals. But Perez did contribute a key sacrifice today, moving up two baserunners in the third inning and helping the team score a run. One run. In a game they went on to lose 9-2.

he hit the nail on the head imo.

Our lineup today was depressing from the start and never amounted to much today. We lost all momentum offensively gained in the last 3 games by putting that lineup in. What a joke.

I wonder how the players feel when they see this kind of lineup. Especially the starting pitcher.

The lineup today was pathetic. If Ozzie isn't going to play all the regulars we might as well release them. No point in cluttering the bench.

Maybe Ozzie is resting our guys for the autograph sessions at soxfest.

Ozzie Guillen should not be managing a burger joint, no less a Major League baseball team. All faith in him has been lost, without question.

I used to rationalize it as preparation for the stretch run. BUT THIS IS THE GODDAMN STRETCH RUN! When your team has the best record in baseball and then has a below .500 month, its time to solidify the lineup. No more of this f***ing around. These guys are rested and ready to play. Thats their job. They can handle it Oz. Goddamit I'm so pissed right now.

If only Timo was the worst of our problems:

Pierzynski, C 4 1 0 0 0 0 2 .263

Konerko, DH 3 0 1 1 1 1 0 .271

Rowand, CF 4 0 0 0 0 1 2 .278

Dye, RF 4 0 0 0 0 2 1 .271

Blum, 1B 4 0 0 0 0 0 1 .233

The problem is not getting on base and having a philosophy that is the exact opposite of what has been successful in years past.

How did that happen? How did they lose that philosophy? I just don't get it.

you're forgetting Crede's stellar August in which he hit .103 and drove in 1. On a solo homer.
