September 19, 200520 yr A friend (and I use the term VERY loosely) in my fantasy football league is talking so much $hit right now about the Sox choking. He even said "I don't want to hear about the Cubs, 'cuz you guys are about to be the biggest chokers of all-time." So I guess he prefers being 20.5 games back to actually being competitive. It would be one thing if he just had his fun and called the Sox chokers, but to say he doesn't want to hear anything about the ScRubs and also say them choking the division away will "lift the ScRubs curse of '69" is damn comical to me. He believes in the curse, but also believes the Sox losing will somehow help the ScRubs? I know not all ScRubs fans are that preposterous, delusional dim-witted etc etc but are any of you guys having to put up with the same type of gibberish???
September 19, 200520 yr Not all scrubs fans are aholes!! My friend who is a die hard cubs fan is going to the cleveland series with me.. He is a huge baseball fan and says he appreciates what the sox are doing for baseball!! But on a side note. I had to endure a cubs game this past wed when St. Louis clinched the division..
September 21, 200520 yr Most Cubs fans are delusional in some way or another, but I at least run into some of the few intelligent Cub fans. It seems like a lot of them are either sympathetic or indifferent to the Sox. However, they all lack a grasp of basic logic. I still say the Cubs one is bigger either way because they were up 9 1/2 on September 1st and managed to blow it. Ours was 7 1/2. They also went something like 8-20 to finish the season, much worse than us.
September 22, 200520 yr i hate cubs fans...i live maybe a mile away from the s*** hole they play in...i have to hear s*** all the time....some how they think this is worse then being 5 outs from the world series....they simply dont take into consideration that the injuns are the best team in baseball since august 1st...
September 22, 200520 yr The problem is Cubs fans who dont know s*** about baseball. There are inteligent ones out there
September 22, 200520 yr To be honest, they can call us whatever they want. I know a few Sox fans including myself who have called the Cubs the Chokes for decades. I think it takes more than one choke do gain that reputation however.

We choked in 03 too imo
September 24, 200520 yr There are about as many great, intelligent, Cub fans as Sox fans. Where the Cub fans get their reputation is the casual fan who occasionally goes to a game. They really aren't Cub fans, they just want to see a mlb game. These are the fans we want at the Cell. We want the to look at the Sox schedule when they attend their once or twice a year trip. We want them to want to see the Yankees, Bo Sox, Indians, etc.
September 25, 200520 yr QUOTE(illinilaw08 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 02:25 PM) The problem is Cubs fans who dont know s*** about baseball. There are inteligent ones out there I can relate to this. The other day a Flubbie fan came up to me after the game Crede hit the walk off winner. First thing he says to me is how the Sox lost and how they are going to choke. I played a long with him for a little bit saying "yeah, I was devestated after they lost. That sucked." and then just when he was about to say some more about the Sox choking it away I said, "Yeah, that really sucked for you because they won last night you idiot!" I can't stand those retarded Flubs fans who every day say something about how the Sox suck and I just say Oh yeah, well were not the ones already eliminated from the playoffs
