We didn't have a curse to deal with, we just had failure to deal with.

Jerry Reinsdorf said this in an article that can be found here.

Edited by mkalk

"It'll be the Cubs' turn next," Reinsdorf said, proving that, on this night, absolutely anything and everything really did seem possible. "It would be great if the White Sox win the World Series and then the Cubs win the World Series so Cub fans and White Sox fans can stop hating each other.

"We're Chicago's American League team. They're Chicago's National League team. Why can't everyone root for both teams?"

Correction: Reinsdorf's team is Chicago's American League championship team.

See ya at the World Series.

Ahhh, no JR. We can't root for both teams. :puke :fthecubs

I don't care what happens with the Cubs. Come on, guys. 4 more wins and we can give up the Cubs junk for once and for all.

You don't see Lakers fans going on and on about the Clippers, do ya?

Chicago is a White Sox town again!

The Cubs-Sox thing is way different. So much has a lot to do with it and there's so much history. I'm sure there are some fans, probably a small minority, who could root for both, but for the vast majority it's an impossibility that'll never happen. Maybe JR doesn't get it, but my guess is in his postion he kinda has to say something like that. Bottom line, we (Cubbie fans and Sox fans) love hating each other. :fthecubs :gosox1:

I know thats what I do.. but thats not the popular thing here :P

I find that interesting considering he supposedly put on a Braves hat at a season ticket holder or owners meeting back in October of 1998.
