BlackJack on Torborg

Can someone do me a favor and listen to this brief analysis from McDowell?

It's the top story there. I can't get it to work because of my firewall at work.

The paragraph that has the link in the middle states:

"Jeff Torborg is out in Florida and Jack McKeon is in. But was Torborg's handling of an injury-plagued pitching staff reason enough? Yahoo! Sports analyst Jack McDowell thinks not, warning that few managers are safe in an era when many teams look for scapegoats. He calls for new blood to join the managerial ranks and warns that Jerry Manuel of the White Sox could be the next to be replaced."

I'd be interested to hear what this moron believes.

I like Black Jack.

I like Black Jack.

He looked like a herion adict at Soxfest this year. I loved Jack when he pitched for us, but he didn't look too good.

Music was terrible also

I didn't think so - he just looked very alternative music scene to me.

Had a nice little talk with him about 1 am one morning - just standing around the lobby - his hair color was a tad unusual but all the young people are doing that these days...

He said he doesn't really care for the re-hiring of the old guys. He said it's good because of the experience thing, but sometimes you need new blood.

Interviewer: When you look around the big leagues, do you think there'll be more firings in the next few months or do you not expect that many this year?

McDowell: It's tough to say 'cause it seems like there hasn't been that big rush to get everybody out of there, but um, I think probably the next person on the hot seat is Jerry Manuel with the White Sox. There was talk last year. They went out and got him the players. This year they aren't performing to their capabilities. There's been in house fighting last year in the White Sox clubhouse. It just seems like the motivation's not there, and there's just a lot of people pulling in different directions. A lot of times that can point to the top too. I'm not blaming Jerry Manuel specifically, maybe there's no one that go in and put these guys on the right page, but he'll probably be the next one on the hot seat and everyone's gonna have to keep a close eye on the White Sox to see if they can put this thing together.
