Benches Time to Shine

"We've mostly been hiding out in the cage, and in the clubhouse, killing the [food] spread," said Blum, who is shooting down rumors he was acquired from the Padres at the trading deadline in part because of his legendary spread-killing talents. "Somebody's got to go up there and test the spread. So why not us?"

Exactly. And so far, he said, their spread-testing and spread-killing activities have been well worth the effort involved.

"The other night, we got lobster and crab legs," Blum reported. "They've really stepped up in the playoffs. They've even added a little more decoration. Some World Series logos. And they threw in some raspberries and more exotic fruits."

So my question is...since he didn't do much in the regular season...does Blum have any insight into Oswalt? Or any of the hitters tendencies?

Blum also played with Oswalt for 2 years. could have given him some insider info on that fastball.

We have a bench?

I have a hunch there will be some Timo bashing the next 3 days.
