Amber alert issued in Hialeah

Thursday, November 17, 2005

An Amber alert has been issued regarding a missing child in Hialeah.

The Hialeah Police Department and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement are looking for Dialys Ramos, a 17-year-old white female, 5-foot-2, 105 pounds, with auburn hair and green eyes.

Ramos is believed to be in danger. Authorities said Ramos was likely abducted by Robert Laird, a black male, 39, 5-feet-11, 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

They may be traveling in an orange Mazda 6, Florida tag number P233GW. Laird is a convicted sex offender and may possibly be armed.

If you have information on the whereabouts of Ramos please contact the Hialeah Police Department at (305) 687-2525 or dial 911.

Thanks Kip.

Everytime one of these happens, I just get reminded of Elisabeth Smart. I still shudder at that tragedy. I'm so happy when the girl/boy is returned home safely, but it breaks my heart to know that there's still damage done psychologically.

Will these kids ever have a normalcy in their life? I can't imagine the intimacy issues that it would create.

:pray :pray :pray

It's a shame more sex offenders don't cure themselves as this guy did.
