rangercal
Radio Personality Critical After Hit-And-Run CBS) CHICAGO A popular contributor on the Mancow Muller’s morning radio show was critically injured early Sunday after being struck in a hit-and-run on the Southwest Side. Forty-five-year-old Ray Hofstatter, known as “Cowboy Ray” on the radio, was leaving the Bochia bar with friends in the 5500 block of South Archer Avenue, when he was hit by a dark Honda. At 3:45 a.m. Sunday, the staff closed the Southwest side bar. The owner locked the gate, with her back to the street. "You heard a thud and thought a car was sideswiped," said bar owner Lori Martinez. Hofstatter was a bar regular and frequently sang karaoke, but is better known as Cowboy Ray, a contributor to Mancow Muller's radio show on Q101. Hofstatter walked out of the bar with three other people. He was catching a ride home. At that time, there were no cars on Archer Avenue. They walked straight across the street. When they reached that left turn lane, that's where he was hit. One witness saw a young woman driving the car. "For a car full of girls to go that fast, she never even slowed down, she sped up when she did hit him," Martinez said. The force of the impact knocked off Hofstatter’s coat and shoes. "His eyes were open, he was moving them a little bit. He seemed to be having a hard time breathing. There was no sound out of him," Martinez said. Hofstatter befriended everyone who visited the bar and the staff says they will be praying for him. (© MMV, CBS Broadcasting, Inc. All Rights Reserved.) The Critic
Wow. That sucks. Hope they find the little cowardly b****. BTW, they spelled Bohica wrong, but that's not important.
Steff
Not a fan of the show, and don't listen to it, but prayers for him and his family. Mancow is reporting that someone called in with a name and number of the person possibly responsible. He forwarded the info to the police and they are checking it out.
