Grade A Minors: Three teams made playoffs and Class A Kannapolis won Sally League title, but Charlotte was one of the worst teams in AAA. Grade B Talent Level: Bobby Jenks, Tadahito Iguchi and Brandon McCarthy played important roles in Chicago, and the system is stocked with outfielders. Grade B Player Procurement: Didn't have to deal major prospects this year, as most key pieces were already in place. Lance Broadway highlighted pitching-oriented draft. Grade B Org Direction: Few looked to Kenny Williams and Ozzie Guillen as pacesetters before the season, but now they look like they could keep on winning. Grade A

Grade A #1) Uum, why does he mention Tadahito like he came out of the Sox minor leagues? #2) Didn't deal any major prospects? Gio Gonzalez not a major prospect? #3) Charlotte does suck.

I guess they just consider Brian Anderson, Chris Young, and Ryan Sweeney our "major prospects."

I guess they just consider Brian Anderson, Chris Young, and Ryan Sweeney our "major prospects." Yes, I know, but he refers to McCarthy and Jenks...both of which came from the Sox minors. It just doesnt fit to me. If he wanted to talk about additions to the 2005 season, why didnt he mention AJ or Pods or Duke or Dye?
December 13, 200520 yr Yes, I know, but he refers to McCarthy and Jenks...both of which came from the Sox minors. It just doesnt fit to me. If he wanted to talk about additions to the 2005 season, why didnt he mention AJ or Pods or Duke or Dye? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because McCarthy, Jenks, and Iguchi were unknowns at the major league level. Pierzynski, Podsednik, El Duque, and Dye weren't.

If he wanted to talk about additions to the 2005 season, why didnt he mention AJ or Pods or Duke or Dye? Most likely because they actually had Iguchi ranked as one of our top 10 prospects last year(number 8 iirc).
