There was a car accident outside the home in all the jammed traffic, so they voluntarily shut it down. Kind of stinks, but it's probably tough to be their neighbors at Christmas. No, they did not play the music out loud (again, in deference to the neighbors). Signs told viewers to tune their FM dials to a low-watttage broadcast of the music the lights were synchd to.
