The Twins also announced on Tuesday that they have agreed to terms on Minor League contracts with pitchers Ryan Glynn and Pete Munro, and outfielder Tim Raines Jr. All three will report to Minor League Spring Training in March.

Pete Munro could be a diamond in the rough for them.

To get a job with the Twins all you have to be is old, cheap, bad, or all three. Tony Batista and Ruben Sierra fill all three of the criteria.

I'd rather see just about anyone up in the bottom of the 9th with the tying or winning runs on other than Sierra. For whatever reason, it just seems like in huge situations like that, he never gets out.

 

It's a good no-risk, any reward you can get type signing...it's not like they're signing him to a 3 year deal worth $10 mill...it's a minor league friggin contract.

That could turn into a steal for the Twins. A minor league contract? He will make the regular season roster. Sure he is getting old but he should help them.

I doubt it's a steal, and I doubt he makes a major contribution to the Twins...but on a minor league contract, there's no risk whatsoever, so worst come to worst, they let him go and there are no repercussions, so basically if you can get anything out of it at all, you're lucky.
