Ever heard of Jason Mraz? I'm not up on music like I used to be, but here was here on Saturday at the previously mentioned festival. I heard he was really good.

Jason Mraz is mainstream. He's had a couple albums out and is on MTV and all that pretty consistently. From the post you responded to I thought maybe you were thinking he was up and coming or an independent label guy. He's had a few top 40 hits now.

I would compare him to John Mayer if I had to make a comparison.

 

He has some decent stuff but its pretty much too light for me.

Decent performances last night. Katherine was by far the worst (vocally). But will her hotness be enough to save her?

 

Dial Idol (which is actually surprisingly accurate) shows her and Chris at the bottom of the pile. But I think Katharine will be going home.

I am picking Kat to go home as well. Everyone else was markedly better than Kat, with Elliot and Taylor having awesome weeks. The Elvis week did prove to be perfect for Taylor as he was excellent with both songs. Chris was OK, not impressive, but not nearly as bad as Katharine. We could have an all male final 3 for the first time ever.

I really can't see what people see in Taylor.

The guy's dancing is ridiculous and out of the 4 left, he has the least impressive voice.

 

I guess it goes to show that dancing around like an idiot can help you advance.

 

If he wins I think thats pretty embarassing. I can't stand the douche.

He has a hell of a good "Soul" style voice, as he proved with the second song. I would love to hear he and Rod Stewart together. He does Sam Cooke quite well, which is no easy feat as Cooke is one of the greatest voices to ever have lived. He does have talent, just not with dancing.

 

I thought Chris's version of "Conversation" was one of the most boring performances ever. No emotion at all in the beginning. Even though the original was a little mellow in the beginning, Elvis still had the charm and presence to get the point across. Chris just looked and sounded bored.

 

I do agree though that Kat will probably be going home, which is a shame as she is more talented than Chris.

I've liked him since his audition. I think he has a really soulful voice that's much more unique than any of the other contestants. I also like that he looks like he's doing it because he loves it. His dancing is over the top, but I love his voice and I think he's the only one that is different from current performers--not a cookie cutter crapfest.

I love soul and blues, and he really invokes an image of a time gone by musically, that I just love.

Taylor lives another week and if he wins Idol, may just get a deal with Just For Men so he can at least get his original color back on that awful head of hair. He surely won't sell any records.

I actually think he might sell more than Clay Aiken ended up doing.

I agree, I think Taylor will do very well commercially. Taylor is also someone that would play well live. Can you imagine going to an Elliott concert? That would be complete boredom.

 

I didn't see (or hear) what everyone must have in Elliott last night. I think he has a great voice, but I wasn't buying what he was selling last night. I didn't buy into his version of Trouble at all, and I thought his first song was boring as hell.

 

Katharine definitely didn't have a good night last night, but with Elvis as the theme, it wasn't too surprising. I hope she stays tonight and Elliott goes tonight.

On a one night performance, Kat was the one that should have gone.

 

But overall, she is easily the one who should win it all.

Kat deserved to go due to Tuesday's performance, but overall I don't think she deserved it. I guess it depends how the people are voting. At this point in the competition, are they voting each week with a clean slate or is it based on past performances as well. I'm not an expert, but I think singing Elvis would be a difficult task for even the most seasoned female singers. She was going to struggle and sound out of key no matter what.

Then, the fat guy will be so sickened that he will vomit out his stomach, immediately killing him. After all this has happened, Simon pulls out an Ak-47 and kills all the contestants, then proclaims himself winner of American Idol.
