Well that is good news :gosox1:

Its not like any of those guys are gonna make the team anyways. Just AAA filler players.

I went to a minor league game on Tuesday morning. Wes Whistler was pitching, Pods took him deep to CF for a double. Thome lined a double against the RF wall. Thome didn't run, but seems to be alright considering he was in today's line-up.

That's big relief, especially with Jim Thome. We need these guys healthy. :gosox1:

Pain-free elbow alleviates big concern for Contreras

By Mark Gonzales

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Jose Contreras admitted he was scared. The White Sox pitching hero of the second half of last season said Wednesday he never had an injury until feeling discomfort last week in his right elbow.

Then he thought the worst.

"I was worried about it," Contreras said, acknowledging he felt better after throwing a bullpen session at Tucson Electric Park. "It's coming around and I feel good now."

Contreras had X-rays March 15 that caused him much concern and forced the Sox to bring him along slowly. Contreras gradually has felt better, although he has avoided throwing at the three-quarters angle that helped him harness his wildness last season and make him more effective against right-handed hitters.

Contreras is scheduled to throw four innings or 60 pitches in a minor-league game Saturday and said he will resume throwing at the three-quarter angle once he feels 100 percent.

"In the next few days I should be up to 100 percent and be ready to go Saturday," Contreras said. "The soreness in the arm is gone."

Contreras hasn't pitched in a Cactus League game since March 10, when he allowed one run in four innings while striking out four against the Giants.
