May 19, 200619 yr I keep reading about how Detroit will fade and how their pitching won't hold up and everything else we can think of to dismiss them. I can't help but think I am listening to commentaries about the Sox from this time last year. Guillen did a tremendous job turning around some bad habits of the Jerry Manuel era, and Coop helped finish the transformation. A guy like Jim Leyland could very well have that same impact on the Tigers. I want to dismiss them, too. I also agree they will come back down to earth a bit. However, the WS bullpen is scary right now. Guillen left Vazquez in too long last night to avoid a long outing by the pen. We need help if we are going to not only win the division but also be ready for a deep run in the playoffs as well.
May 19, 200619 yr QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 18, 2006 -> 09:07 PM) I'm pretty sure the Sox suck, doesn't really matter what the date is, this team will not being making the playoffs. Hahaha, MBINAA LMAO QUOTE(zenryan @ May 18, 2006 -> 10:59 PM) this thread is dumb this post is dumb
May 19, 200619 yr A little early to be making playoff predictions, isn't it? Does everybody forget that Cleveland sucked 1st half last year and almost knocked us off the top of the hill in the second? The reason I don't panic is that, after last year's September swoon, hell: if we want to be wobbly 1st half and then do a Cleveland second half (except winning it this time), that is FINE with me. I never want to go through that again. The other reason I don't panic is that Tampa Bay is just one of those s*** teams that we always have had problems with. On paper we should kick their ass but there's just something about that place where everytime we go down there, things get hinky. I am months and months away from pushing the "panic" button. Look on the bright side: we should have been blown out in that Logan game but we came almost all the way back. We only lost by one last night. Yes a loss is a loss but I guess that one-run luck can't be ours every season. Forget Tampa Bay, Detroit and what place we're in. Enjoy. Hell it's the CUBS SERIES! Now THIS is gonna be fun.
May 19, 200619 yr QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ May 19, 2006 -> 02:06 AM) Thought I'd post this before everyone decides to go insane about being in second place... It's May 18th. That is all. Tom Hanks was wrong!! There IS crying in baseball.
