id take him here on the team........we could use a lefty ....hes not all that bad and certianly no worse than what we already have here.................of course i would rather have clemens but.... pettitte would make a nice additon as well........i heard that an offer of 500,000 was offered to parque today if he makes the 25 man roster out of spring training.. .if he doesnt then he would make the league minimum if he takes the deal.....of course with the way the sox treat players these days i wouldnt take that offer espically when there are clubs like the cubs willing to pay more for less such in the case of sirotka..........adios jimmy.........

To me thats more then a good offer for Parque. I think he'll sign that one. I mean the guy keeps yapping about how great he is, well then go out and prove it and you get yourself a fair contract considering the crap numbers you put up last year.

 

I'd like to see what a full year of being healthy does to him...probably nothing, but lets see.

 

Oh ya, I like the Pettite idea, brings in a solid lefty who typically is healthy(Knock on Wood if he comes to the Sox) and gives you innings.

 

He isn't my favorite pitcher, but he is clutch and he gets wins.

jason the reason why i wouldnt do it if i were jimmy is because the way they treat players these days around here they could easily say (even if he pitched his ultimate best) that he didnt make the 25 man and then call him up once the season started.. thus only having to pay him league minimum... see where im going with this now??? i for one wouldnt do it ..........im sure that there are others who wouldnt as well just based on kennys honesty track record and jr's parting ways with his cash.......they just dont have any value as honest men to their words........

I just think that Parque isn't going to get a better offer then that from anyone else.

i dont know.. his original contract was what 1.5 mil i think....im sure that he can find that elsewhere espically since all these teams like the yanks and such are dumping their higher paid guys.... ill bet he can find someone out there who will at least pick up the 1.5 faster than he would earn it here..........hell if siro can pick up a heafty minor contract and he hasnt pitched in two years why couldnt jimmy pick up one.. he aint the best but he is a lefty which is a higher paid, and sought after comodity than a righty........

I know one thing, if James Baldwin couldn't make a million and a half, then I don't know what Parque did to earn that type of money this upcoming year for any team.

 

I happened to read somewhere where the Sox are considering bringing JB back for a real low salary.

Might not be a horrible idea. But I like Roachie alot so.....

I'm thinking Pettitt will command too much, and then JR will cry poor. I DON'T think ANYTHING will be changed with our pitching during the offseason. I just have this haunch.
