This is indeed a very odd joining of links.

What else is new?

No kidding Greg. It's been two years since anyone at the company I work at received a merit raise, but you can guarantee the big guys upstairs have received bonuses for making their numbers.

The place I work with introduced a new commission structure in January of last year - that basically was a raise. Six weeks later, they cut the commission structure. Since then, nothing.

That seems to be the way of the USA anymore.

Military life = fun.

Plenty of opportunities to babysit grown adults.

Mind numbing monotony punctuated by moments of extreme action.

And a pretty decent pay scale and raises annually to go with hikes for promotions and time in service.

I saw some lady, in her forties/fifties, who was being sent to Iraq. They called her a "fighting Grandma" or something.

If they miss their recruiting goal again they might.

:D

6 years too old IIRC.
