EU Files Auto Parts Complaint vs. China

 

BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) -- The European Union filed a complaint Friday with the World Trade Organization over China's tariffs on imported foreign auto parts and indicated that the United States and Canada would follow suit later in the day, officials said.

 

The auto parts dispute, which marks the first time the Western allies have teamed up to seek a formal WTO investigation in a trade spat with China, will be on the agenda when the organization's dispute settlement body meets later this month, the EU said.

Safe to say I don't think we'll be seeing a Free Trade Agreement b/w the US and China anytime soon.
