Posted Oct. 25, 2006 – If you've ever checked out an episode of the '70s sitcom, "The Jefferson's," you know that Tom Willis, a White man, married Helen, a Black woman, and they had two kids -- one Black and one White.

Well, an interracial couple in Australia, believed to be the first in the country, naturally conceived one Black and one White girl, The Daily Telegraph reported.

Natasha Knight, 35, of Jamaican-English heritage and father Michael Singerl, 34, of German heritage, said they were blown away when they saw how different their twin daughters, Alicia and Jasmin, were.

"When they were born, you could see there was a color difference straight away. We couldn't believe it,'' Knight told The Telegraph.

"Alicia's eyes were brown and her hair was dark. Jasmin's eyes were blue and her hair was white. You could hardly see her hair or her eyebrows.

We were joking when I was pregnant about what if one baby looked like me and one looked like Michael. We joked about one light one, one dark one, so it was amazing when it actually happened.''

Knight said that she often gets stares when she's out with them and some folks have even come up to her and asked if both girls were hers, followed by questions of whether there was a mix-up at the hospital.

But there was no mix-up, Knight said, adding that they are both her beautiful girls.

Genetics experts say rarely does a mixed-race woman's eggs contain genes for predominantly one skin color. In most cases the eggs are a mixture of genes for both Black and White skin.

There was a couple in England that had twins girls were one looked white and one looked black. Both parents were biracial in that case.

there's a family in Schaumburg who did the same. 2 damn good basketball players too.
