how do i know if I am better filing as married jointly or separately???

 

i make about 6 times more than my wife but all of our additional income and expenses (interest, stocks, property taxes, mortgage interest) are on joint accounts.

There really is no real advantage from filing separately based on what you said - unless you have a boatload of capital gains that ONE of you need to offset, and you can only do that in certain circumstances anyway.

If you give me your bank account number, debit number, and pin code, I'm sure I could figure something out for you. :)

Exactly. In 99.9 percent of cases you file jointly.
