Guest hotsoxchick1 Posted November 16, 2002 Share Posted November 16, 2002 i know enough to know that communism in theory was started to create a classless enviroment... meaning that everyone would be considered equal, property is owned by the community as a whole as opposed to just individuals... but in real terms the governments of a communist society took it one step further and took over everything to maintain their hold of power over the communities.....are you with me so far.....this form of communism actually started out in the 19th century in europe i believe under the term socialism(although communism the idea if i remember correctly can be traced back as far as the days of plato).......the term and correct me if im wrong here.. (which i highly doubt but...) communism came to be when lenin took over power in russia.....and it then proceeded onto stalins term when he took over......and so on and so on.....i dont need to read any manifesto on it.. i remember my history classes quite well thankyou very much....so before you assume i dont know what im talking about i suggest you read your manifesto and brush up on your studies before you call me out again...... Very good. Only thing wrong in your paragraph was that Stalin did not run the USSR throguh Communism. He ran it more as a facist dictatorship, and Russia would have probably been better off with Trotsky over Stalin considering Trotsky held truer to Karl Marx's beliefs than Stalin did. Russia would have probably avoided the entire Chechnya situation today if Trotsky would have been in power, considering Staln thought it was a great idea to ship all of the Chechens to Siberia.
