February 22, 200719 yr It finally happened, I was having a problem reading and it looks like I need correction for distance (been nearsighted and wearing glasses or contacts for 35 years) -and- this is new, for reading. The options are bifocals, correcting one eye for distance and the other for reading (monovision), or correcting via contacts for distance and carrying a pair of "reading glasses". After y'all stop laughing at Tex, does anyone have experience with these options? I am currently trying the monovision contact option and hear that driving at night may be a challenge.
February 22, 200719 yr Awwwww, poor baby. My dad recently got bifocals. He said it took about two weeks to adjust and after that he said it was great and he had no problems. But I've still got my better than perfect 20/10 vision.

February 22, 200719 yr My mom has had bifocals for quite some time. My dad got glasses sometime in the last 10 years. Looks like his diabetes is starting to do a number on his sight though.

February 22, 200719 yr Well I'm getting the same problems except I'm only in high school. Just over a year ago I was told I had better than 20/20 vision. Now, after a good portion of that year was spent on the computer, I have worse than 50/20. Damn you Soxtalk!
