April 9, 200719 yr http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/04/08/obit.hart.ap/index.html HUGE shame. The guy was so good.
April 9, 200719 yr QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 08:24 AM) RIP, but both of those comics were lame... If you dont have anything nice to say, leave it at RIP. Those comics were enjoyed by millions over the years, its a damn shame that he has passed. There is going to be a huge void in the comic strips(even if they attempt to keep it going with another artist) that will unfortunately be filled by a cookie cutter comic with no originality. This is close to losing Bill Watterson's "Calvin and Hobbes" genius for me, although not quite that bad.
April 9, 200719 yr He was from where I live now (Broome County = BC) and designed lots of logos for the local sports teams. He's a huge local icon. Very sad.
April 9, 200719 yr That's sad. It feels like the world of daily comic strips are slipping away these days.
April 9, 200719 yr Johnny's best stuff was pre-1980, imo, but I agree that the daily strips just lost another one of the giants who defined the medium.
