April 24, 200718 yr THIS DATE IN WHITE SOX HISTORY: APRIL 24TH HAVE A DAY, EDDIE LEON 1973: Light-hitting infielder Eddie Leon homered and drove in three as the White Sox began what would turn into a nine-game winning streak with an 8-4 victory at Yankee Stadium. Leon’s two-run homer in the second put the Sox on top. After the Yankees tied the game, Bill Melton fronted the Sox for good with a homer leading off a five-run fourth. FORSTER GOES K KRAZY 1974: Terry Forster struck out eight batters in three innings in preserving the White Sox 7-2 win over Milwaukee before 5,409 at Comiskey Park. After starter and winner Wilbur Wood gave up a single to start the seventh, Forster fanned three of the next four batters he faced.
