HAVE A DAY, EDDIE LEON

1973:

Light-hitting infielder Eddie Leon homered and drove in three as the White Sox began what would turn into a nine-game winning streak with an 8-4 victory at Yankee Stadium. Leon’s two-run homer in the second put the Sox on top. After the Yankees tied the game, Bill Melton fronted the Sox for good with a homer leading off a five-run fourth.

FORSTER GOES K KRAZY

1974:

Terry Forster struck out eight batters in three innings in preserving the White Sox 7-2 win over Milwaukee before 5,409 at Comiskey Park. After starter and winner Wilbur Wood gave up a single to start the seventh, Forster fanned three of the next four batters he faced. In the eighth Forster got two Ks and then struck out the side in the ninth.

5409 people at the 1974 game? Can you imagine the attendance threads if Soxtalk was around then?

That stood out to me as well. I thought the Sox were popular in the 70s or was that the 80s?

The late 70's, but not the early 70's. Some of the worst teams in Sox history were back then IIRC.
