The Seattle Marieners went from a 93 win team in 2003 to a 99 loss team in 2004. In fact, the 2003 Seattle team had a bit of a tail off in the second half 2003, That team got old fast the next year and the bottom dropped out. It is now 2007 and it has taken them three years to get half way decent.

 

This Sox team is looking very similiar. I expect it will also take a few years to fix the mess we are in.

I never thought of this comparision, but it has a pretty scary bit of truth to it in terms of comparisons. Mariners are looking good this year though, 16-5 in their last 21. I have a feeling it will take us at least a few years to be any good again though, our organization is a mess.

Which is of course why Ichiro is on his way here next year...familiarity!
