June 19, 200718 yr QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 01:41 PM) Any chance the reason he dropped was signability? He's a senior, so no. Without sounding like a bitter asshole (which is probably impossible at this point lol) he isn't much of a prospect. Think Adam Ricks. The HRs are nice, but the Big East isn't very good at baseball and HRs in Rosenblatt aren't a big deal. He will probably do fairly well in A ball in the future, but he's probably not going to do well beyond that.
June 19, 200718 yr Author he is indeed a four-year senior. dropped this far because of average speed and an average arm. like most prospects taken that late, he's a longshot to make it to the majors. But he does have solid pop -- leads this team in HR -- bats left handed and does not K at a high rate for a power hitter (29 in 265 at bats). He could be Wally Backman. He could be outta the game in three years. We'll see. His bat makes him somebody who deserves a look.
June 20, 200718 yr I always like to remain optimistic about the Sox picks, but another potential negative is his age. He will be 24 in November. Most top prospects are in the majors by the age 24, and he will likely be in A ball.
