2nd Half Schedule

Featured Replies

The season is over guys. Don't give yourselves false hopes. However, it will be fun to spoil the season for Cleveland or/and Detroit and watch Minny win another Central title while Seattle wins the WC. Hahaha wow that would be funny. I know its a sad day when you have to cheer for your team in hopes of spoiling division rivals and all but the 2007 season itself has been sad.

this opening road trip may well dash any lingering hopes - 4 @ BAL (where Guthrie and Bedard are dealing), 3 @ CLE, 4 @ BOS.

Then they get to catch their breath with 5 at home against DET!

Man it could get REALLY ugly quick.

If we play like we did the first half, we could lose 8-9 of those road games and 4-5 to Detroit.

Seriously, if we hit like we did first half and the bullpen acts as it did first half, I predict we lose 3-4 to Bal; we lose all 3 to Cleve and all 4 to Boston.

Then we lose 3 of five to Detroit.

If we hit like we are supposed to hit, we'll win 2 in Baltimore, one in Cleveland and 2 in Boston.

Then 3 or 4 versus Detroit.

that's my fear...but I like the fact that we ended the first half on a high note. Guys got a much needed rest and a chance to put the first half to rest. At least that's my hope. I'm not saying they're going to make a run. I just want to see a competetive team.

Take a look at our current outfield:

23 Jermaine Dye R/R 6-5 240 01/28/74

26 Andy Gonzalez R/R 6-2 190 12/15/81

10 Rob Mackowiak L/R 5-11 195 06/20/76

7 Jerry Owens L/L 6-3 190 02/16/81

30 Luis Terrero

Do you see one GOOD player in there? Pretty tough to win with this group as well as how our bullpen has performed.

one good player? Jermaine Dye. A great player. Has he played good in the first half? Absolutely not. But you have only to look at the last two years to see what he's capable of doing. Whether or not he has a good second half is the question. But he's not washed up like many around here would have you believe.
