August 30, 200718 yr QUOTE(beautox @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 01:10 AM) any one have any suggestions, im trying to burn .avi to a dvd to watch on my tv. thanks in advance. There are a couple of Windows-based converters downloadable from this site: http://www.321slideshow.com/vob-joiner.htm I've found that getting files into vob format is often the easy part, and laying out the vob files so they have valid title sets for the DVD burn is the harder part. If you've got the $30 to spend you can buy DVDSanta and avoid a lot of hassles http://www.dvdsanta.com/index.html?g01avi There's a free trial you can try out - it watermarks the DVD but you can give it a spin and see if you like it.
August 30, 200718 yr DVDShrink... it shrinks the DVD's to ensure that they fit on a standard DVD +/- R - but the quality isn't as good because it's compressed. Having said that if you just want to watch them and aren't worried about quality so much, it's a good program.

Some of the ones I have pushed through this program look as good as the original with a LOT of compression.
August 30, 200718 yr I wouldnt use the free stuff. I use DVD Cloner and its worth the 20 bucks I paid for it
August 30, 200718 yr I think we are missing a major part of this though. He wants to CONVERT .avi to a DVD file. That's something most of these burn programs won't do.

August 30, 200718 yr On a somewhat related note, does anyone know a program to put a DVD onto an Ipod? I really don't feel like paying money to buy the ITunes versions of movies I already own on DVD.
