So the latest Gallup poll about the major parties generally (not specific candidates or politicians) has a few interesting bits in it. Dems continue to be seen in a much more positive light than the GOP. But here is a new twist - the Dems have now overtaken the GOP in terms of which party is seen as better at protecting the nation from terrorism. Link here.

On a related note, the upcoming Senate seat situation looks pretty grim for the GOP. Two thirds of the seats up for election are already held by the GOP, and looking at the close contests, the Republicans have only one race (Louisiana) where they are considered even close. Meanwhile, there are a handful of GOP seats that are being heavily contested.

I'll try my best Kap impersonation:

"Good, now when the state of the nation is all messed up the Dems can only blame themselves."

:P

I disagree that the Dems have a better plan to keep me safe from terrorists. I think the GOP plan would keep us safer, but at a much higher cost in our freedoms. We'd lose out on about every cornerstone freedom we have, but we'd be safer.

Has invading random countries and making them into havens for Al Qaeda made us safer? Don't forget, you have to judge all of their actions, not just the ones that seem like they might help.

I'm suing for false advertising...

there are NO party poles to be seen in this place, general or otherwise!
