Long Awaited Sweep (Twins YNOT Results)

Featured Replies

It's been a while hasn't it? The long awaited sweep doesn't even want to come after 9 innings on Wednesday nite. In the 11th it looks like a lost cause until Paul Konerko brings out his bat and reminds Sox fans why he is on this team. Frank does yardwork to finish the job. Also welcome Roberto Alomar and Carl Everett to the South Side. I can't remember a 3 day stretch when so much positivity has surrounded this team. And now some positive answers:

1) Who will win the series (CHW/MIN) (2 points)? CHW

2) Will Rick White allow an earned run (Y/N) (2 points)? Yes

3) How many errors will the Sox make (4 points)? 1

4) Who will lead the Sox in runs scored (4 points)? Carlos Lee and Frank Thomas

5) How many Sox players will have at least 4 hits in the series (5 points)? 2

6) How many strikeouts will Mark Buehrle have (5 points)? 5

7) How many bases will the Twins steal (4 points)? 1

8) Will any of the games be decided by one run (Y/N) (2 points)? No

9) Who will have more hits, Torii Hunter or Sox centerfielders (2 points)? Torii Hunter

10) Will Danny Wright get his first win of the season (Y/N) (2 points)? No

TIEBREAKER: Total number of runs scored in the series for both teams. 34

It was a close race with a number of high finishers. Fortunately my boneheaded play of forgetting the tiebreaker did not come back and bite me like Merkle's boner. Here are the scores:

THE WINNER:

whitesox247 18 (-6) (1 win, 0 losses)

THE REST:

Soxheads 17 (+2) (1 win, 0 losses)

Texsox 14

abozichiu 13

TheBigHurtBEGOOD 12

cwsox 11

YASNY 10 (1 win, 0 losses)

moochpuppy 8 (+2)

theoldroman 8 (-13) (0 wins, 1 loss)

MartePartay 7 (-9)

southsider2k3 4 (-7) (0 wins, 1 loss)

Winning Ugly 4 (-10)

THE LOSER:

Mathew 4 (0 wins, 1 loss)

Devil dogs up next at the Tropicana Cabana.

Wow, how the hell did I win? :o

Wow, how the hell did I win? :o

Nailed the 2 5-pointers. That's 10 points in the bank right there. It was close though.

The questions must be good. I nailed all the 2 pointers and nothing else. Can we count top 3 finishes? I can't seem to get over the hump.

Wow. I seem to be good at this game.

Who would win if the contest ended today? And would the winner get anything? Maybe a ham?

Believe it or not Heads, if it ended today you would be our champ. It's a long season tho and you have whitesox247 and YASNY close behind you.

As for a prize, I haven't decided yet. Maybe the Sox will provide their own prize. :o

I kinda got screwed, given that I picked before the tie breaker existed, but, I've been called worse than loser.
